The Bank Left Gallery

One Hundred Years of Art

The Bank Left Gallery featured artists for May 2009 are husband & wife Marilyn Lysohir and Ross Coates from Moscow, Idaho. Marilyn's art career has spanned over 40 years, and Ross has been creating art for more than 6 decades.

This mixed media exhibit will run from May 2 to May 30 with an opening reception on May 2 from 1:00pm - 5:00pm. During the reception, there will be a musical performance by cellist Lauren Rosenkranz and guitarist Mike Edmondson from 1:00pm - 3:00pm.

Marilyn Lysohir

Marilyn manages to juggle two careers successfully… an artist (clay is her preferred medium and her work can be seen in most major ceramic texts and has been exhibited in many venues in the United States as well as in Canada, Denmark and Venezuela) as well as an entrepreneur (she is the founder and owner of Cowgirl Chocolates, based in Moscow and known in the United States, Canada and Europe).

And she’s a wife and a grandma to boot. What a woman!

Ross Coates

Ross leads a quiet expatriate life (born in Canada) in Moscow and now that he is pretty much retired from teaching and stuff he spends his time between making interesting construction /paintings in his studio and helping Marilyn at the chocolate company.

Three of his four grandchildren are taller that he is and the fourth one is only nine and growing fast.
